Caprese salad- A simple and delicious summer salad from the Island of Capri, Italy. The quality of salads always relies on the freshest ingredients and less time of handling. With very few ingredients this salad can be the treat to the eyes and heart. In summer the tomatoes were most juiciest and flavorful.
Fresh mozzarella cheese is a great source of Biotin which is also referred as Vitamin B7. It is good in potassium, zinc and a good source of riboflavin. Amazingly health beneficial, fresh Mozzarella has been widely used in Italian cuisine.
Combing with fresh mozzarella, basil and drizzled with extra virgin olive and salt, there is no more simplest version than this for a salad.
Wash and slice the tomatoes, slice the mozzarella. Slice the basil leaves.
Arrange tomato and mozzarella alternatively on a platter and sprinkle the basil leaves over it.
Combine olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt and pepper in a bowl, Drizzle the dressing over the salad. Serve chilled.
